Sarajevo Times, 27. juli 2013. – Drama Seven o ženskom aktivizmu na promo turneji u BiH
Sarajevo Open Center organizes a theatrical reading of revolutionary documentary drama Seven, based on the life stories of seven women’s rights activists from around the world, which will be part of a tour through the countries of the Western Balkans and will be performed in Sarajevo, Mostar and Banja Luka, from 5-7. November 2013.
Theatrical reading of the play “Seven” was initiated and produced by award-winning playwright, actress and producer Hedda Krausz Sjögren, in Sweden 2008. Each reading is taking a unique ensemble of actors, politicians, students and activists, successful and influential women.
Drama was performed in 19 countries, gathered around 15,000 people, and an ensemble was build of very well known and successful women from different spheres of life, including an American actress and multiple Oscar winner Meryl Streep and former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The Project Seven, in addition to stage dramatic readings of the text, includes supporting educational activities that will be the focus of the fight against gender violence and to protect women’s rights.
“Seven” is a revolutionary documentary that is based on interviews with seven women’s rights activists from all around the world, and whose difficult life stories and struggles are amazing source of inspiration: Ferida Azizi (Afghanistan), Inez McCormack (Northern Ireland), Marina Pisklakova–Parker (Russia), Annabella de Leon (Guatemala), Mukhtar Mai (Pakistan), Mu Sochua (Cambodia) and Hafsat Abiola (Nigeria).
During 2013, the “Seven” will be performed in six Balkan countries: Albania, BiH, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia and Serbia. This project in BiH will be jointly implemented by the Embassy of Sweden, Civil Rights Defenders and the Sarajevo Open Center.
