Overview of the lectures at the School of Feminism: 17 May 2016

On Tuesday, 17 May the lectures of the Module 1 (Introduction to feminisms: history, terms, theory) and Module 2 (State, law, equality: de iure and de facto) at this year’s Žarana Papić School of Feminism took place. Sandra Zlotrg, linguist, lector, professor of Bosnian, Serbian, Croatian language, talked about the feminist linguistics. Adnan Kadribašić, lawyer, talked about the institutionalization of gender equality: gender mainstreaming, gender-responsive budgets, as well as about the, so called, positive measures and quotas.

Overview of the lectures at the School of Feminism: 26 April 2016

On Tuesday, 26 April the new series of lectures at this year’s Žarana Papić School of Feminism, with the second generation of students, took place. In the scope of the Module 1 – Introduction to feminisms: History, terms, theory, Adriana Zahrijević, feminist, philosopher and translator, talked about the history of the movement – the beginnings of the feminist movements in the context of the demands for the political and other freedoms. In the scope of the Module 2 – State, law, equality: de iure and de facto, Adnan Kadribašić, lawyer, talked about discrimination on grounds of sex, gender, sexual orientation and other circumstances.

Overview of the lectures at the Žarana Papić School of Feminism: 19 April 2016

On Tuesday, 19 April the second set of lectures at this year’s Žarana Papić School of Feminism, with the second generation of students, took place. In the scope of the Module 1 – Introduction to feminisms: History, terms, theory, Jasmina Čaušević, MA of social sciences in the field of gender studies, talked about the history of the movement – the beginnings of the feminist movements and women’s associations in B&H. In the scope of the Module 2 – State, law, equality: de iure and de facto, Adnan Kadribašić, lawyer, introduced the students to the international and domestic legal framework for gender equality and women’s rights.

How did we mark the International Women’s Day?

Different activities were organized in order to mark International Women’s Day in B&H (street activism, media reports, sessions in Parliaments in cooperation with Committees for Gender Equality and civil society organizations, reading of the play SEVEN…).
