Lecture and discussion: 50 shades of of cyberfeminism: Feminist principles of the Internet

Sarajevo Open Centre, in partnership with Friedrich Ebert Foundation, continues with the third cycle of Somebody said feminism? The second lecture and feminist discussion is titled 50 shades of of cyberfeminism: Feminist principles of the Internet, and it will be held on Tuesday 14 April at the Museum of Literature and Theatre Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, starting from 6 p.m.

Step forward in proper recognition of bias motivated crimes

Training for the improvement of the capacity of police officers was held on 25th of March in Zenica. The goal of education was to present participants with cases of bias motivated crimes that could help them in their future work in prevention and fight against bias motivated crimes.

This was just another consecutive year where the women in Bosnia and Herzegovina were subjected to discrimination in exercising both their economic and social rights. In addition to the existing inequality, discrimination, gender-based and domestic violence, and social exclusion of women from marginalized groups (Roma, women from rural areas, LBT women, women with disability…etc), the women faced three key events in 2014: the floods in May, the issue of the right to maternity benefits and maternity leave, and general elections.

Somebody said feminism: Sexuality is banned from mainstream education

In the Museum of Literature and Theatre Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday, March 5, the first lecture in the framework of the third cycle of feminist discussions and lectures “Somebody said feminism?” was held. The first lecture of a new cycle was Cosmo-policy: Diet feminism women’s magazines, and the lecturer was Nenad Veličković.
