Overview of the lectures at the Žarana Papić School of Feminism: 19 April 2016

On Tuesday, 19 April the second set of lectures at this year’s Žarana Papić School of Feminism, with the second generation of students, took place. In the scope of the Module 1 – Introduction to feminisms: History, terms, theory, Jasmina Čaušević, MA of social sciences in the field of gender studies, talked about the history of the movement – the beginnings of the feminist movements and women’s associations in B&H. In the scope of the Module 2 – State, law, equality: de iure and de facto, Adnan Kadribašić, lawyer, introduced the students to the international and domestic legal framework for gender equality and women’s rights.

Sarajevo Open Centre and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Bosnia and Herzegovina will organize 6 lectures in 2016, which will cover the following topics: Antifascist Women’s Front Archive BiH, ideology and language, challenges facing feminism today, feminist critique of political economy, the relationship between religion and feminism and reproductive rights.

FBiH’s police determined to combat hate crimes

With different MoI’s of FBiH we negotiated for the module about hate crime to be included into programmes of professional trainings and specialization of the police officers, and in the permanent education of Ministries of Internal Affairs in entire of Federation of BiH. Police officers who finish this year’s train the trainer program will continue to adequately educate their colleagues.

Overview of the first lecture of the second generation of the School of Feminism: 12 April 2016

On Tuesday, 12 April 2016 this year’s Žarana Papić School of Feminism has started, with the second generation o students. We began the lecture of the Module 1 – Introduction to feminisms: History, terms, theory, whose lead, Jasmina Čaušević, MA of social sciences in the field of gender studies, talked about the feminist, women’s and queer studies and their relation to the standardized and academic knowledge, and the lecture of the Module 2 – State, law, equality: de iure and de facto, whose lead, Adnan Kadribašić, lawyer, critically reviewed on the state, law and public policy.

We should not imply women in language

The second lecture of the fourth cycle of lectures and feminist discussions Somebody said feminism? took place on 4 April 2016 in the Museum of Literature and Theatre Arts of B&H, with the lecture by Sandra Zlotrg and Ismeta Dervoz, on the matter of the Language as the instrument for invisibility and discrimination of women.
