Overview of the third module of the Equality Academy 2019

With the third module, which was held in Neum from May 10th to 12th, the fifth generation successfully completed the education of the Equality Academy – Platform for political leadership and joint activity of the political representatives, leaders of political parties and civil society organizations, organized by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and the Sarajevo Open Centre.

Through lectures and discussions, participants had the opportunity to discuss the topic “From public policies and advocacy to real gender equality” with experts on gender equality topics and former Equality Academy participants, while the second part of the module was about practical workshops on presentation skills.

It was discussed about next topics:

  1. Discussion and exchange of experiences with the participants of the previous generations of the Equality Academy – Alma Kratina, House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, Vildan Bešlija, Sarajevo Canton Assembly, Jasna Duraković. Canton Sarajevo Assembly and Tatjana Čičić – Odžaković, Assembly of the City of Banja Luka
  2. Labor market in BiH and gender equality – Lejla Gačanica, an expert on gender equality
  3. Harmonization of private and professional life – Nikolina Obradović, docent at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Mostar
  4. Presentation skills – Duška Jurišić, journalist

The Equality Academy aims to strengthen the capacity of leaders in the field of gender equality and the equality policy of disadvantaged groups in BiH in order to improve the rights of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition, the Academy aims to strengthen cooperation between donors of decisions and representatives of civil society organizations in BiH.
