2016: Kosovo lagging behind in implementation of laws

Although we’ve seen progress in Kosovo in regard to LGBT rights, implementation of laws, and respect of LGBTI rights, authorities have throughout 2016 still lagged behind in understanding and solving issues that the LGBT community faces in Kosovo’s society.

Hate Crime monitoring networks established in Serbia

Although in 2012 the Criminal Code of Serbia has regulated hate crime as aggravated circumstance, this legal institution is so far little used. Judicial institutions are poorly or not at all trained in the use of this particular criminal legislation in practice. Recognizing the gap between the adoption of the regulations and their implementation, Labris saw the need for a commitment to proper implementation of these laws.

Rainbow October in SOC – gathering for LGBTI community

October brought us a lot of socializing, talks, workshops, actions, but also one of the last LGBTI parties this year, organized by Sarajevo Open Centre.
