Coming out, commonly used in the expression coming out of the closet, is a figure of speech, was also adopted and is now in common usage by LGBT communites and their allies in Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian language.
Sarajevo Open Centre also stressed that most laws on state, entity and cantonal level do not include sexual orientation and gender identity as protected ground, which is a direct violation of the BiH Anti-discrimination Law.

The Initiative for Monitoring European Integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina has submitted amendments to the Procedure of the ad-hoc committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the election of the three ombudspersons. The amendments are based on the Paris Principles (adopted by the UN General Assembly).
