IDAHOBIT Campaign – LGBTIQ persons send messages to break the silence
On the occasion of May 17, the International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia, the Sarajevo Open Centre launched the “Break the Silence” campaign, in which LGBTIQ people shared their own experiences with homophobia/biphobia/transphobia.
Since the theme of this year’s IDAHOBIT is “Breaking the silence”, we wanted to encourage LGBTIQ people, but also our supporters, to break the silence about violence, discrimination, insults, rejection or humiliation we experience just because of our sexuality or gender identity. We wanted to show that homophobia is a broader social problem, and that for many of us it is everyday experience.
