The seminar on LGBT rights in the context of EU integration
Sarajevo Open Centre, with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway, from 6 to 8 May 2015, is organizing a seminar on the rights of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) persons for representatives institutions and bodies for human rights and gender equality in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Various international mechanisms and reports of human rights, such as the Communication on Progress (Progress Report) of the European Commission for 2013 and 2014, European Parliament resolution of 2013 and 2014 or the conclusions of the Universal Periodic Review of 2014 found the need for greater and more proactive engagement of institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina when it comes to the rights of LGBT people in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The aim of the seminar is to inform and meet representatives intitutions and body for human rights and gender equality with the problems and needs of LGBT persons in BiH, in order to achieve a higher level of state institutions in resolving issues of violation of human rights of LGBT persons in BiH and inclusion of LGBT people in bh. society.
