The Price of Protests: Freedom of Assembly Practices of the Competent Institutions in BiH

Sarajevo Open Centre issued this report, that analyses the right to freedom of assembly, with focus on practices of the competent authorities: the ministries of the interior in the cantons of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republika Srpska, and the Police of Brčko District. The practice of other actors in Bosnia and Herzegovina has also been researched, those competent to decide on the exercise of the right to assembly (ministries of transport, municipal bodies, private persons).

The main goal of the research was to determine whether the practice of the institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina is restrictive with respect to the right to freedom of assembly and what are the challenges that assembly organisers face.
