Proposal for amendments to the Procedures on the election of the three ombudspersons in BiH
The Initiative for Monitoring European Integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina has submitted amendments to the Procedure of the ad-hoc committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the election of the three ombudspersons. The amendments are based on the Paris Principles (adopted by the UN General Assembly).
Based on the highest democratic standards, the European legal norms, the Paris Principles, the recommendations of the International Coordination Committee (ICC) for the National Institution for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights and its sub-committee, we believe that it is crucial to have civil society being part in the whole process of the election of the ombudspersons.
The Initiative for Monitoring European Integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina is ready to support the ad-hoc committee, hoping to contribute with advice and relevant experience.
