Sarajevo Open Centre and Internews invite all journalist to the eighth info session about LGBT topics, which will take place in Sarajevo, on Friday, November 22, 2013, 1 p.m. in cafe Meeting Point. The info session is a part of the independent BH media strengthening project, implemented by Internews, and financed by USAID.

The goal of these info sessions is to give basic information related to the rights and culture of LGBT persons, on correct terminology and achieving professional and ethical reporting. During 8 sessions, journalists will have the opportunity to talk to guests, from region and BiH, who are dealing with LGBT topics through theory, practice and activism.

Guest of the eighth info session is Kristian Ranđelović (Gayten-LGBT) from Serbia who will talk about good and bad practices through examples of media reporting in Serbia related to the rights and lives of trans* persons in public and media space.

Kristian Ranđelović is an activist who has been working with a Belgrade Gender Dysphoria Team for 16 years. Since 2006, he has been working as a counselor for transexual persons and a volunteer at the LGBT SOS phone in Gayten-LGBT. As a part of this organisation, he established first self-help group for trans persons. Through his work, he contributed to formation of similiar programs in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and Montenegro.
