Conference on Human Rights of LGBTI Persons: Does the System Recognize Domestic Violence against LGBTI Persons?
In scope of the program for 16 Days of Activism 2018, Sarajevo Open Centre invites you to the Conference on Human Rights of LGBTI Persons named Does the System Recognize Domestic Violence against LGBTI Persons? that will take place on Friday, 16 November 2018 in Sarajevo.
The conference Does the System Recognize Domestic Violence against LGBTI Persons? is a half-day conference that will discuss the protection of victims of domestic violence, namely the legal framework (international standards and national legal framework), and the systematic reaction to domestic violence, the national practice and issues in BiH, as well as the good practice of the countries from the region, when it comes to domestic violence against LGBTI persons.
We organize this conference with the aim to present to the BH society issues that LGBTI persons in BiH face – to the public and all interested actors, as well as to present the good practice of the countries from the region in this field, and also the ways to prevent and sanction domestic violence.
Panelists will include national and regional experts from the field, representative of the Ministry of Justice of the Federation BiH; Canton Sarajevo Ministry of Labor, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees; BiH Gender Equality Agency; FBiH Gender Centre; Cantonal Public Institution Centre for Social Work of the Canton Sarajevo; Canton Sarajevo Ministry of Interior, and representatives of the civil sector from BiH and the region.
Note: Refreshment and lunch costs are covered for the participants of the conference, while accommodation and travel costs, we are not able to cover.
