Call for applications: Second School of LGBT Human Rights for students and graduates of law faculties in BiH
After a successfully realized LGBT Human Rights School in October 2014, Sarajevo Open Center and Banjaluka Association of Queer Activists are organizing a second LGBT school of Human Rights for students and graduates of law faculties in Bosnia and Herzegovina which will be held in Banja Luka.
School of LGBT Human Rights aims to introduce LGBT rights to both students and graduates of law faculties in BiH by using the language of the legal profession. The school program consists of theoretical lectures and practical examples through which students will be guided by national and local experts involved in the protection of human rights.
Lecturers on LGBT Human Rights School are from BiH, all of whom have years of experience in academic, political, and social work. The school will last three days and will be held in Banja Luka, and it will cover the following topics: LGBT terminology; Regional and national legal framework for the protection of LGBT human rights; Discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity; Case-studies; Experiences from the region; Hate crime; Hate speech.
The lectures will be held in B/C/S languages.
Applications consisting of a CV (2 page maximum), a list of exams passed and a motivational letter (elaborating the reasons of the application and the ways the acquired knowledge will be used, 2 page maximum) must be sent by 1st of March to the following e-mails: [email protected] and [email protected]. Any additional questions can also be sent on the above mentioned e-mails. On the results of the call the applicants will be informed by March 3rd.
The School is organized by Sarajevo Open Centre in collaboration with partner organization Banjalučko Udruženje Kvir Aktivista (B.U.K.A.) – Banja Luka Association of Queer Activist, and financially supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway.
