Last week, in Jahorina, we organized a two-day training for lawyers who are alumni of SOC’s Academy on the Human Rights of LGBTI Persons from 2021.

Professor Midhat Izmirlija and lawyer Nedim Seferović educated the alumni about the legal position of transgender persons and same-sex partners. Through the lectures, we looked at the legal framework, the problems faced by transgender people and same-sex partners in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and we presented the practice of local authorities as well as the legal standards of the European Court of Human Rights in these specific areas.
