Second Request to the Human Rights Ombudsman to Work on the Special LGBT Rights Report
Civil society organisations have once again requested a special report on the state of LGBT human rights report from The Institution of Human Rights Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This, second, request followed after the meeting of representatives of The Institution of Human Rights Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina and representatives of Sarajevo Open Centre, where the Institution of Human Rights Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina has clearly stated the will to actively fight against LGBT human rights violations in BiH.
This request emphasises and detailes the reasons which point to the necessity to produce suggested special report, and once again warns about the rise in the number of human rights violations cases and the draws attention to cases which remain underreported and the low level of trust in state institutions. These are primarily the result of the behaviour of state institutions, characterized by the lack of proactive approach to the protection and repsect of LGBT human rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Civil society organisations have also offered their support to The Institution of Human Rights Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina in ensuring the necessary capacity to produce the special report on the state of LGBT human rights in BiH.
Detailed text of the request, as well as the list of the organisations who have supported this initiative, can be found at the following link.
