This workshop is intended for the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) persons, as well as friends and supporters of LGBT persons, and anyone who is interested in this topic in Sarajevo and the region. The workshop will be organized by Sarajevo Open Centre, with the support of the Matra programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairas of the Kingdom of Netherlands and is the last in the set of 10 workshops that we are doing in 5 cities in BiH, from September 2012 until June 2013.

The goal of this workshop is understanding of the basic terminology connected to sexual orientation and gender identity with the emphasis on the most marginalized identities: transgender and intersex; LGBT activism through history; LGBT and religion; the relation between language, media and LGBT; human rights of LGBT people in Bosnia and Herzegovina; discrimination and violence on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.
