\"Rainbow-swirl\"Training Women\u2019s Activism and Human Rights of LGBT Persons in BiH
<\/i><\/span>As a part of the \u201cComing out! Advocacy and protection of rights of LGBT persons<\/a>\u201d Sarajevo Open Centre has, in cooperation with Heinrich B\u00f6ll Foundation and Foundation CURE, organised a two-day training titled Women\u2019s Activism and Rights of LGBT Persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the first day of the training the participants of the training \u2013 coordinators, activists and lawyers, have learned more about the concepts of sex, gender and sexual orientation, prejudice, stereotypes, coming out as a process of empowering LGBT persons, as well as had chance to hear about the experience and good practices of involvement of LGBT topics into the work of women\u2019s organisations in Serbia, from the perspective of an LGBT activist. During the second day of training through interactive approach, the participants were informed about human rights of LGBT persons, discrimination and hate crime, offensive terminology and politically correct terminology related to LGBT persons, in order to adopt the approach and a method of support towards LGBT persons who turn to them.<\/p> <\/div>

BL-ART regional art festival
<\/span>Second year in a row, BL-ART, regional festival of independent art scene was organised, from 5-8 September 2013 in Banja Luka. This year\u2019s topic of the Festival was \u201cRegional Cultural Policies and Independent Cultural and Art Scenes\u201d, and the participants were artists from Austria, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Festival was opened by a discussion \u201cThe Non-existent\/Culture of Media Reporting on LGBT Topics and Human Rights of LGBT Persons\u201d. The discussion was moderated by Marina Milkovi\u0107 from the Zagreb Pride Organisation, and its participants were Sa\u0161a Gavri\u0107, executive director of Sarajevo Open Centre and Lejla Huremovi\u0107, Programme Coordinator of Sarajevo Open Centre. The discussion was followed by the projection of the documentary \u201c11th<\/sup> of June \u2013 First Split Pride\u201d made by Tomislav Ladi\u0161i\u0107. Lejla Huremovi\u0107 and Jozo Bla\u017eevi\u0107, Programme Coordinator in Sarajevo Open Centre also led an interactive coming out workshop for LGBT persons, held on the second day of the Festival.<\/p>

Analysis of the results of the research on needs of LGBT community in Bosnia and Herzegovina
<\/span>Sarajevo Open Centre would like to announce the release of the bilingual publication in B\/C\/S and English language \u201eBrojevi koji ravnopravnost zna\u010de. Analiza rezultata istra\u017eivanja potreba LGBT osoba u Bosni i Hercegovini\u201c \/ \u201cNumbers of life. Analysis of the results of the research on needs of LGBT community in Bosnia and Herzegovina\u201d. The research had been carried out in six months period, and you will be able to read about it soon \u2013 a pdf version will be placed on our websites in the following week, and you will also be able to obtain your own copy of this publication.<\/p>
