Yesterday, on the December 3, U.S. Ambassador to B&H Patrick S. Moon visited Sarajevo Open Centre in the Human Rights House of Sarajevo and met with representatives of this human rights organisation which – beside it’s Political Participation Programme – advocates for human rights
of women and LGBT persons through equality policies to talk about the current situation of LGBT persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina, about their needs and discrimination they are facing on daily basis.
Ambassador Moon extended the U.S. Embassy’s support for the protection of the basic human rights of all people, including this group. The meeting is one of several activities the Embassy is conducting to mark the yearly observance of Human Rights Day, which will take place on December 10, 2012, the anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
